There’s already more snow in the San Juans this year than by the end of last season

What a week its been in the San Juans. Culminating with a storm that dumped more than 2 feet overnight on Monday. Here’s some shots from Silverton, Red Mountain Pass, and Molas Pass. After a rough drought season last year, we already had more snow by January 1 then we did the whole of last season. The skiing is good in Southern Colorado.
Nothing quite like the mountain passes of Southern Colorado. They’re treacherous when the roads are dry. Add snow and man, it makes it exciting and adds a whole other level of adventure to the skiing.

Close to 2 feet of snow fell in the town of Durango this past week. More snow than the town saw all last year. Made for a white Christmas!
