What a week its been in the San Juans. Culminating with a storm that dumped more than 2 feet overnight on Monday. Here’s some shots from Silverton, Red Mountain Pass, and Molas Pass. After a rough drought season last year, we already had more snow by January 1 then we did the whole of last season. The skiing is good in Southern Colorado.

Nothing quite like the mountain passes of Southern Colorado. They’re treacherous when the roads are dry. Add snow and man, it makes it exciting and adds a whole other level of adventure to the skiing.

Mike Barney mooning the pow up on Red Mountain Pass a little after sunrise. Multiple storms rolled through all last week with sunny breaks every couple of days. Pretty decent week indeed!

Sunrise to sunset are what its all about when the snow is this good. Greg Hope off of Molas Pass this past Saturday.

Close to 2 feet of snow fell in the town of Durango this past week. More snow than the town saw all last year. Made for a white Christmas!
