Talia + Stefan had it all planned out: a February wedding, a beautiful venue, all surrounded by the love of friends and family. But the Colorado mountains kept calling and you know what that means—they had to go! T + S took their first hike together among the Blue Lake in Indian Peaks Wilderness, where Stefan later proposed. There, in the state where they live + fell in love, they made a last-minute decision:
About a month ago, on a morning hike no less, we chatted about the crazy notion of doing a private ceremony in Colorado to proclaim our love for one another in a place we love so much. Also, this meant that our pup could come which kind of sealed the deal. So, with about two weeks to get some plans in order, and with the help of some wonderful people, we decided to exchange love notes in the mountains (the very same we got engaged in) on an unbelievably magical autumn day.
The pair called on Root + Gather Events to help design the day and photographer, Cassie Rosch, to capture every sweet moment. Shall we have a look? The mountains are calling so we must go!
The Boho Bridal Look
When wearing a fringed Rue De Seine gown, one must twirl! (It’s no secret we LOVE this dress!)
Total swoon. This bouquet by Plume + Furrow is the most romantic mix of rust, berries, and foraged finds!
Vows in the Mountains
Hard to pick..but one of them was definitely driving up to the mountains, all decked out with our pup in the back seat, those perma-grins from excitement and nerves on our faces, just knowing I get to spend my life with this man by my side doing what we love.
…also Stefan’s vows were beyond, and then it started snowing! It was all just so divine.

Snowfall on the Newlyweds!
Fam photo!
Part of the fun was wearing my dress and finding Stefan’s suit and bolo. As for the dress, I feel like it was meant for me! I mean it has fringe…lots of fringe! It’s basically my spirit dress. Stefan’s bolo came to us via a local antique dealer, appropriately named Wolf, who happened to hitch a ride to our closest friends’ housewarming party only a few nights prior to our mountain date. It is 1930s Zuni with turquoise, mother of pearl and tortoiseshell and was the perfect accent to his vintage-inspired suit from ASOS.
SO obsessed with the movement on her dress!
What shoes to wear when eloping on a mountain? Talia’s Frye Boots are perfection!
So epic with the snowfall!
Love that these two decided to do something totally them—even if it was last-minute!
I’m so happy we got to do something that represents us so well. I guess my advice would be for people to do the same. And to remember that anything is possible! We decided to elope with only two weeks to plan it out, and it was more perfect than we could have imagined.
We had so much FUN! Eloping meant less to worry about and more to enjoy. Also, bring whiskey! 😉

Such a beautiful day, right?! Cheers, Talia + Stefan!
