If you’ve wanted to organize a road trip for your family for a long time, then maybe this spring is the right time to do it. Colorado is one of the states that offers endless outdoor adventures, and it is perfect for spring breaks when the temperatures are turning for the better. Plan an unforgettable week for the upcoming spring vacation and get ready to have the best time ever among all the natural beauty that Colorado has to offer. Here are some suggestions for spring breaks in the Centennial State. Check this out!

Colorado National Monument

You need to head west into the desert to see this gem. The Colorado National Monument has some of the most breathtaking views in the whole state. Get up early to catch the sunrise at Grand View and drive the 23-mile Rim Rock Drive that climbs and winds through the red rock canyons. You can spend a great time hiking one of the 14 trails that range between a quarter mile to 14 miles in length.

For experiencing the best of the trip, try the 6-mile Monument Canyon Trail, which will take you to the 450-foot Independence Monument that is also climbable. The best spot to see the sunset is Book Cliffs, and from Otto’s Trail you can see the Pipe Organ and Kissing Couple.

Spring skiing

Yes indeed! Colorado ski resorts reach their peak during the spring with all the party concerts, warm temperatures, and pond skimming. If you love skiing, and you hate the end of the season, now you know where to look to extend it.

Dinosaur National Monument

If you are planning your spring break together with your kids, then check out the Dinosaur National Monument, a destination that you will all love. Take your little paleontologists to the Quarry Exhibit Wall, where they can touch 149-million-year-old dinosaur fossils, and they will be happy for the rest of the trip. Taking a quick guided tour with a ranger, which will provide all the necessary information, is also a useful thing to do for all the members of your family. To complete the magical experience, you can camp under countless visible stars. Late spring getaways include floating on Yampa and Green Rivers.

Hot and steamy spring break

Strawberry Park Hot Springs in Steamboat, Indian Hot Springs, or Saratoga Resort and Spa (which is actually in Wyoming but close enough to the border), will satisfy all your hot water necessities. If you suffer from arthritis, rheumatism or you just want to relax from work, then the steaming water will help you do so and will make you feel brand new. Kayaking and skiing are also possible in Steamboat, so if an active spring break is what you’re looking for, then look no more.

The ultimate spring vacation in Northern Colorado

The Rocky Mountain National Park, Lory State Park, the Poudre Trail, Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, and brewery patios is what you can find in Northern Colorado and spoil yourself and your family to the max. The snow sticks around for a while during springtime, so you can go to Forest State Park for a great snowshoeing adventure. Cross-country skiing can be a lot of fun as well for the folks who are looking for something more.

Spring is near, and that means you should start getting ready for the mini holiday that’s coming. Get your backpack ready and choose the place you want to visit. Good luck!
