Angela Halpern, MS, CCC-SLP: Chief Clinical Officer LSVT LOUD
What do you do?
I coordinate with health rehabilitation professionals nationally and internationally to organize in person and virtual live LSVT LOUD and LSVT BIG Training and Certification courses. This part of my job has resulted in relationships that have turned into friendships across the globe! As an LSVT LOUD faculty, I train and certify speech-language pathologists around the world in LSVT LOUD. I co-develop and teach Online and Virtual live courses and lead weekly LOUD for LIFE classes. I also work with universities to coordinate LSVT LOUD training and certification opportunities for their students. Additionally, I collaborate on research projects, publications and presentations related to LSVT LOUD treatment efficacy.
How long have you been with LSVT Global?
I have been a LSVT LOUD faculty and LSVT LOUD clinical expert since 2004. In 2012 I took the position as the Chief Clinical Officer for LSVT LOUD.
What is your favorite part of your job?
It is hard to identify “one” favorite part of my job. When I talk with other people about what I do, I frequently receive two comments. 1) “Wow, your work sounds so rewarding!” and 2) “You seem really passionate about what you do!”. Both are very true! As a speech therapist, I have the honor to learn from and be inspired by the people with Parkinson disease that I work with and see the empowerment that LSVT LOUD treatment has on improved communication and quality of life for them. I then have the pleasure of seeing this empowerment multiplied as speech clinicians we have trained in LSVT LOUD provide this life changing treatment to their patients. I feel blessed to be surrounded by a team of people who are like family, dedicated to this mission as well!
Tell us a little about yourself:
I have been a speech-language pathologist for 29 years. I have worked in a variety of hospital and rehabilitation settings and also have a private speech pathology practice. I live in Golden Colorado with my co-adventure seeking husband of 29 years and we have three kids (two sons and a daughter-in-law). My faith and my family are my rocks!
We love to travel internationally and hike the mountains of Colorado. My perfect day is to go on an adventure in the mountains with my whole family and then finish the day with good food and wine and family games!
Favorite quote, food, or pastime:
